You Need:
- 4oz self raising flour,
- 2oz butter,
- 1 egg,
- jam
- salt, 2oz castor sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- Preheat the oven to 450F / 230C / Gas8
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl,
- Cut the butter into small pieces, add to the flour and rub into the flour,
- Add the sugar and stir,
- Grease a baking sheet and spoon on the mixture into small heaps,
- Using the back of a spoon make a small hole in the top of each heap and add the jam, pinch the top closed,
- Bake for 15-20mins until they are golden
