Sunday Recipe: Carrot and Potatoes

No im not going to tell you how to cook vegetables but this is a little different! I love these two vegetables and when cooking them this way makes it crispy I love it.

You will need:
  • Carrots,
  • Parsley,
  • Salt and pepper,
  • Potatoes,
  • Butter,
  • Milk,
  • Flour
And this is what you do:
  1. Select a bowl - sometimes I cook this in individual portion sized bowls or other times in a big dish,
  2. Preheat the oven to 200C / Gas6
  3. Peel and slice the vegetables to about 1/8 inch,
  4. Put a layer of carrots in the bottom of the dish and then cover with a layer of potato slices,
  5. Sprinkle on some salt, pepper and parsley,
  6. Put on a small knob of butter and some flour,
  7. Add another layer of vegetables and then more parsley/flour etc.
  8. Keep adding layers until almost at the top of the bowl,
  9. Add 1 tablespoon of water on the top,
  10. Put in the microwave for 5-10 mins (if you dont have a microwave, just cook in the oven for a short time)
  11. Add 2 spoonfuls of milk,
  12. Put in the oven for about 20mins until golden.
Options:
  • Add some grated cheese to the top layer,
  • Add some think slices of onion in the layers
