You will need:
- Carrots,
- Parsley,
- Salt and pepper,
- Potatoes,
- Butter,
- Milk,
- Flour
- Select a bowl - sometimes I cook this in individual portion sized bowls or other times in a big dish,
- Preheat the oven to 200C / Gas6
- Peel and slice the vegetables to about 1/8 inch,
- Put a layer of carrots in the bottom of the dish and then cover with a layer of potato slices,
- Sprinkle on some salt, pepper and parsley,
- Put on a small knob of butter and some flour,
- Add another layer of vegetables and then more parsley/flour etc.
- Keep adding layers until almost at the top of the bowl,
- Add 1 tablespoon of water on the top,
- Put in the microwave for 5-10 mins (if you dont have a microwave, just cook in the oven for a short time)
- Add 2 spoonfuls of milk,
- Put in the oven for about 20mins until golden.
- Add some grated cheese to the top layer,
- Add some think slices of onion in the layers
